Closer to the Rockies, where rainfall is scarce,
tallgrass prairie is found in swales and places
where moisture collects, but the vast majority of
prairie is shortgrass or midgrass prairie . . . .
It is estimated that barely 1 percent of shortgrass
prairies still exist.

Join Fairchildren and Joe Sampson
at 8:30p.m. on Friday, September 16 at Ironwood
(14 South Broadway).
We’ll play some music and then walk together
to the shortgrass prairie on
South Broadway for more music from some
of our favorite people.
